I love watching this softball team of improvisers

The action of the various character arcs will be different on the night because that's how this lightly structured longform improv works. We saw a lot of talent, got some some true laughs, and didn't quite see the scene resolve. This is impressive and fun stuff.

Very creative, snappy humor. Every character has quirks ... and Gary's not the only one with issues! Sign yourself up for great comic relief.

Buyers or Sellers? Hilarious show.

Improv is complicated with 2 people and its actually even harder the more you add. They have 8 folks on stage for most of the show and that's REALLY hard to navigate. Great work to the cast and I really enjoyed the tactics they used to show us how the baseball game was played. UPDATE: I was just informed they traded everyone away at the deadline so don't expect a win any time soon. Highly recommend this show regardless - and yeah Gary can take a long walk off a short pier.

I could hang out them all day…

Such great chemistry, such funny people. The structure puts an energetic framework around the show, and ALMOST makes me want to play softball… just not with Gary. Fuck that guy.

I really thought they were going to win!

Spending time with this ragtag group of mediocre softball players was an absolute delight. Improv is already hard, but when you add in a large group trying to share focus while delivering a funny and coherent show, that is incredibly challenging. I can happily say this group pulls it off with ease. Each cast member gets a chance to really shine. Just a great show. And f**k Gary.

This show was fab! There was a brilliant use of space and the fluidity of which characters interacted and when was well developed and organized. I want to join the team!

A Grand Slam of a MN Fringe show

Rec League isn’t just a home run, it’s a Grand Slam! With an entire bullpen of talent at the ready, you know you’re in for something special. I loved last year’s The Camp Out for its honest and believable improv moments, and Rec League captures that once again. Improv is more than punchlines. Mike Fotis knows what he’s doing. Batter up! (PS you don’t have to know anything about baseball to enjoy this show.)

Not just a show, an education!

There's not much to this show, in ways. It's not telling an epic story, it's just rec league softball. But somehow the construction of this show still builds an engaging framework on which to get to know the various characters therein. Honestly as someone who has studied improv, I was most amazed by how well-structured this form was and how it enabled building the strong characters and show. If you've ever taken an improv class this was like a lesson in itself for how it was constructed. So impressed by the performers and the form.

Sorry, not sorry

I’m sorry I didn’t see this show more than once, and I’m not sorry for how much fun I had! Definitely add Rec League to your list!

So incredibly funny!!!!!!!

We roared with laughter throughout the entire show! The actors were incredible!!! The writing was hilarious! What a super funny show!!! Soo glad we did not miss this showing!!!!

Great show!

I really appreciated the form and seeing these players on the stage! Love how the space was used to showcase a "field". This was a great vehicle to showcase friendships and complicated relationships. A lot of funny moments!
